Timing gun with no dial....
i have this super old school craftsman timing gun and i was searching on how to adjust timing and most of them say something about adjusting the dial to this and then lining up with this mark. Well i dont have that dial so what mark do i use. Its a d16z6 motor and the crank has the three lines....and then the one white TDC line. so after i warm up my car and jump the connector....hook up everything....flash it and then line up the mark to..............????? Red mark or TDC mark?
white mark is 0 degrees btdc
2nd closest to that is 14 deg. btdc
3rd is 16 deg. btdc
4th is 18 deg. btdc
usually the base timing is set at 16 deg. btdc.

oh okay....so no dial means its set to "0" right? then if you had a dial and wanted 16 degrees you'd set it to 16 and shoot for the lone TDC mark? if thats correct you guys just made it way easier to understand. right on
