Default ? For those that have used Eagle rods

I have heard people say you just use the green bearings, I've heard others say to replace with the original colors used on the origina rods, or is there no fool proof plan other than to put them in and plastiguage them?

I'm putting together my CRVTEC and am needing to get some bearings ordered. Also, is the stock LS/CRV bearings used or is there anything better than that?

Thanks in advance.

They are machined to a #3.
Use that as a starting point but plastigage is the best way to go.
Stock bearings are best

My stock rod bearings were yellow except for one which used green. That blew me away. I'll start with green ones and maybe order a spare set of yellow ones if needed.

Thanks Stephen.

use the rod # and crank letter to find your starting point.

While we're on the topic of Eagles here... is it necessary to notch the block to make the rod clear?

Likewise, stock bearings are just fine. If you really want to be sure stop by a local parts shop that does some machining and check the bore sizes between the stock rods and the Eagles, unless you have a gauge on hand. Make sure both rods are torqued to spec. The last time I used them the bore sizes we identical to the stock rods. And of course; always, always, always plastigauge after you assemble.
