heya I am building a b20vtec and I intend on using ACL bearings for the rods/crank. I will be using stock rods when I first build the motor and later when I get the money I hope to upgrade to eagle rods. If I use ACL bearings with these stock rods and I change out the rods later - can I reuse the ACL bearings on the crank journals?

I don't want to have to buy expensive bearings twice if they can't be reused.... thanks for the shouts

also, I'm assuming that ARP headstuds/mainstuds/bolts can all be reused.

bolts can be reused, but I would skip reusing bearings. There not that expensive ( $ 100 ? ) or so.

Buy cheaper bearing for now then go the acl route if you wanted to save some $$ . But honestly I woulc go ACL standard then go your race if you wanted to save the $ 20.

I understand trying to save $$ anywhere possible but, the few guys I know that have reused bearings normally didnt work out to great afterwards. ( mind you they werent fresh they all had a good 40k on them or more )

and the new rods might set different tolerances/specs with the rest of the block, so you might need different bearings all together.

The bearings can be reused on the mains, but not on the rod journals.

ARP head studs are not torqued to yield, so yes, they can be reused.
