to check the injectors take a automotive stetascoupe and listen to you injevtors for a clicking noise if one of them does not click its a bad injector.
As the steth-a-scope method will tell you if your injectors are firing..it will not tell you how dirty they are.
Just because the injector goes "click click" doesn't mean the spray patter or amount of fuel is sprays is within specs. Cover the basics first. Check timing, fuel pressure, if you ifgnition system hasn't been maintained it could be time for wires, cap, rotor, etc. Compression test is alwal a good idea....check out the normal stuff first. Then if that's all okay look for failed parts. Hope this helps you get on the right track.

just cause the car isn't up to par doesnt mean you have to suspect a fuel injector problem...there are alot of variables involved here and would mostly involve a maintainance issue.. start with a basic tune-up, a fuel additive to clean out the fuel system and get those valves adjusted...
The easiest way to determine if one of them is not performing up to par is to look at your plugs. You have to make a WOT run and then quickly shut off the ignition. Pull the plugs and if one of them is hotter (more whitish than light brown) than that cylinder is likely running lean.
