taking off front LCA
how the hell do get that one bolt that connects the lca to the knuckle out? i've always just used a crowbar between the a-arm and spring for leverage and then pounded on the lca with a hammer and the thing pops off, but this time it will not come off i pounded on that thing for like 45 minutes. whats the "correct" way to do this? thanks!
keep pounding. some use ball join separators, but I find that those tear boots very easily and I don't like them. Take all the tension off the ball joint, then beat the hell out of the side of it closest to where the stud is.
I know the feeling... I had to take my LCA bolts out when I did my clutch and then again when I fixed a CV boot.
Here's the trick that did it for me. Take off the castle nut, then it put it back on upside down, but don't screw it on all the way (need some room to see when it loosened). Then use the little jack to jack it up by the bolt. Then, using a ball joint remover and a big *** hammer, pound away on it. You put the bolt on you don't mushroom the stud, and you jack it up to take the pressure off it.
Good luck. I know what a pain it is. IM me if you need any help.

Like Seadawg said, excep for the ball joint remover. Once you have it jacked up by the bolt, Soak the bolt with WD-40 or Nutkracker etc...And hit the part the bolt goes through repeatedly with the heaviest ball-peen hammer you can find. Or a metal faced dead-blow or recoilless hammer..
