Default Stiff Shifter, which bolt is too tight?

My shifter is very stiff and tough to get into gears, (GSR) , Ive searched and searched and people keep saying:

"The bolt at the bottom of the shifter was too tight"

or

"The greese on the bolt on teh bottom of theshifter dried out"

Can some one explain to me exactly which bolt this is? One of thoes exploded diagrams with numbered parts would be nice - ima try to find one now, but if anyone has one, post it up plz

thx

if you dont know which bolt at the bottom of the shifter everyone is referring too i suggest not even trying. look over every part of your car before you even try doing mechanical changes to it cause at this point you have alot to learn.

better yet have your friend do it.

The bottom bolt would only stiffen up the back and forth motion of the stick. Not side to side.

The pivot point on the shifter has a nylon cage around it. It either been installed wrong or needs some new grease.

If you pull the console and look you will see a rubber seal that you can pull off. Put some oil down in there and see if it will loosen up. If not there are two 10mm. bolts under the car that you and loosen them and drop the shifter and check out the cage to see if it is in good condition.
