Default Ignition problem

Im not sure what its called exactly but where you put the key to start the car. Ignition switch i think? Any way i have a 92 legend and its really hard to take the key out. I have to wiggle the hell out of it. How easy is this to fix? How much?

I doubt this is something that is "repairable"...probably going to have to replace it. The cause of this is a heavy keychain, notice that if you take ur honda/acura to the dealer for service and you have a big-*** keychain when you pick the car back up the key will be in the ignition and they'll have ur keychain in the car disconnected from it.

I would just check pricing on a new unit.

disconecting the battery will disable security. I'm not quite sure of your question the way its worded, but all you need for your radio (to ensure it will work when you reconnect the battery) is the security code. You can find this in the owner's manual (if you still have it)...if not its a little more of a bitch to get.

You'll need to pull the radio from the dash and get the Serial # & Model # off the back, they should be on a sticker. Once you have them written down, try calling one of the two dealerships below (I did some searching and both of these service departments are really good about giving out unlock codes without hassling you):

Elk Grove Acura:
(916)-392-1400

Poway Honda:
(858)-486-4300 (ask for Stephanie in Parts & Service)

This is the ONLY way to retrieve the unlock code unless its in your manual, hope this info has helped.

Thx for the info. Yes i still have that code. So when you reconnect the battery the radio will just say enter code?

Sure will, easy as cake. I didn't realize you already had the security code, but thats all you'll need...once reconnected the LED panel on the radio will say something to the extent of "CODE", then just punch in that number you have and its done.

Hope it all works out for ya.
