?'s on block assembly
I have a spare gsr block I wanna assemble and im not sure about a few things.
I want to throw a ls crank, ls rods, and oem pct pistons into it. standard bore.
will this work? will the piston rise above the deck? what compression would I be at using a b16 head with flat faced high comp valves and 3 ply head gasket.
thanks for the help guys

No, but you are going to need delete plugs and better pistons because you are going to take out the oil squirters and it is to lube the pistion better. With after market you can get away with that.
your right I forgot about that. ok what about if I just awapped the stock gsr pistons for the pct pistons and left the stock gsr rods snd crank in there?

your compression is going to be 12.98 to 1 with those pistons and you can run the squirter, they help with cooling also.

you can run the squirters with a ls crank if your willing to do a little work. You first need to grind the bolts that hold the squirters in place. you need to grind off enough to clear the crank counterweights and make sure to leave a little extra room between the bolt and crank for expansion. Also after this is done you need to bend the nozzle on the squirter carefully out of the way of the counter weight. You need to make sure it is still facing towards the wrist pin area though and take great care when bending this as it will kink easily. I had done all of this in my old car and it worked flawlessly for the whole time it was in my possesion and as far as i know is still works today and this was years ago now.
a little time and a little work is well worth keeping them as they are good to have for cooling and lubrication purposes.
hope this helps and wish i had pictures of this but this is all i have so if you have any questions please let me know.
