Default Rywire.....3 stage VTEC wiring

Have a fully installed D15B 3 stage VTEC installed in my 91 CRX SI......really clean looking install since I had Rywire do a custom converison harness and a well known
local honda builder installed it.

My installer has given up getting all the wiring connections correct and I am left
with engine error codes..........currently a code 14......

An issue with this install has been that the D15B engine was from a CVT(auto) tranny
and I am mating it up to a 5 sp tranny with the correct manual tranny 3 stage Vtec
ECU (P2J-003).

Need a wiring diagram for the asian 3 stage VTEC, manual tranny and so far the
Temple of VTEC's Mr Wong is the man I'm trying to reach on this.

But really need a Honda wiring Guru here in the SoCal that can make this 3 stage
VTEC come alive with all the right connections.

This project is almost a year and half long but it will get done........

you have a code for the iacv because of the ecu... you have a 3 wire iacv on the engine, and the manual ecu that you are now using looks for a 2 wire... Mixing and matching can cause issues as seen here.
What issues are you having besides that?

That 3 stage vtec is a waste of time, you'd be better off running a p28 with a normal 02 sensor and ending that entire headache.
ps The thoughts expressed are those of me and me only. I've seen your car personally but I did not work on it.

Its my understanding I have all the right parts for the 3 stage Vtec conversion.
I hunted for months for the 3 stage VTEC D15B and many months more for the
manual 3 stage VTEC ECU P2J-003.

I have confidence in Ryan having built the ODB0-ODB2B conversion harness correctly for this 3 stage Vtec hookup......

The engine install looks very clean to me like the engine was born there........

I loved my REX when it was pretty much stock and adding almost 25% more hp and
having VTEC-E that can give me over 50MPG under 3800 rpm is worth the wait.....

Once I find the right VTEC mechanic locally to trick this ECU about the manual tranny
I'll finish the total restoration of my REX............

Yes, the ecu pinouts you posted are correct, and I used similar schematics to build your harness

I just think personallly that if it was worth it honda would have put it in more cars considering the new civics dont have 3 stage vtec or get that kind of mileage. Good luck to you though. Having a car that doesnt rev past 3k sucks and I wouldnt wish that on anybody.

Put a usdm ecu in for troubleshooting, I dont want to rule out that Malaysia has a different dizzy pinout. Ive seen crazy'er things.... I once got a harness from Malaysia that was a ef chassis with cvt tranny

The D15B is completely installed with the correct manual ECU, P2J-003 with a custom
conversion harness. obdo-obd2....

Just down to troubleshooting the Error code.......so I have been looking for a VTEC
tuner in my area to do that...... looks like I have the fix for the Code 14, just convert to the 2 wire IACV and change the ECU connection.

I bought the engine from HMOTORONLINE.......I was just lucky they had one in stock, the only one.....as you know the 3 Stage VTEC D15B can be hard to find........but the
hardest to find is the ECU......I needed the ecu for a manual tranny, P2J-003.
Again I got lucky........after 6 months of looking........and found a Malaysian
Ebay parts man and picked it up for $235. He is jdmpro_krs on ebay.

The custom wire harness was from Rywire.

I recommend all these guys!!!!

There are several issues with this swap so do some serious looking around and always be patient.......

Here is my baby
