Problem after VAFC-II installed
After I installed the VAFC-II. Sometimes the check engine light turn on, but after I restart the car, its off again. However, the light is on no matter how many times I restart it.
When I check the code in Honda dealer, they said the code is about the Vtec.
Anyone know what's wrong???

the wiring is right...i had the same problem...the code is VTEC system malfunction...you have to set you settings...it's in the manual in the front...after you do that you might need to adjust your fuel. if you drive around for a while your car will start puttering at high rpm's. i had the same problem so i just unhooked it until i can get it tuned.
What you need to do is initialize the VAFC. This will set it up with the stock settings (in/out configuration, engine size, etc.), it's one of the first things the manual tells you to do after installation. Reading the manual, BTW, is a good thing to do. Then you can put it on a dyno and fix the lean spots in your A/F ratio.
it would be a good place to start. the reson your getting a cel could be from problems that an incorrectly set up VAFC could be causing (detonation, too lean/rich)

did you reset your ECU after initializing the V-AFC? Also, check to make sure your connected correctly to your vtec solenoid. If you CEL is still on, take it to a dyno shop and get a print out of your power band and A/F ratio. That'll tell you a little more info on where the problem is.

check your wiring. i kept getting a 22 code (VTEC) because my solder for the VTEC wire came loose and was jiggling, sometimes disconnecting when there was a jerk (AKA the VTEC jerk =P) and when that happens, 22 gets thrown and the car goes into limp.
I drove my car today, the CEL off. However, when I was driving back to home, I stopped in front of the stop sign. It comes on again.......

Same **** happened with my friend's built gsr motor. Turns out you shouldn't connect the VTM wire from the VAFC to anything. I can't remember what the wiring was for everything else, but it was pretty self explanatory. Just make sure the VTM wire isn't connected to anything and everything else is wired correctly and you should be good to go.

It's just labelled VTM in the instructions. Is there not a wire with that label in the unstructions? Maybe my friend was running just a regular VAFC, not a VAFC-II. Is there a difference? I would assume they have the same wiring, but who knows. I dunno, I don't run one and haven't had any experience with them other than that one night. Hopefuly what I'm telling you isn't completely wrong. But if there is indeed a wire labelled VTM in the instructions, disconnecting should solve your problem (meaning no, it won't cause any problems if you don't connect it).
