Please post good mods for increasing Throttle response.
I have monkeyed with my intake "comptech," at the Auto-X and appreciate the increased Throttle response when the "icebox" has it's top removed.
But, I also notice some TQ loss when it IS off.
So I am interested in keeping my intake operating as a whole But, I am also interested in increasing Throttle response for my everyday and or track use.
Any suggestions?
Bigger bore aftermarket TB? Or Overbore the TB? OK by how much? And by who? Or which company?
Other ideas?
Thanks guys,
A.

Tighten your throttle cable and your engine will not idle properly. There should be some slack in it. What part of the powerband are you looking to increase response?

depending on how tight you make it and depending on the temperature the throttle cable being too tight can cause a non-closed throttle postion and this can cause a surging idle problem, particularly on decel. I see this all the time. Taking out the recommended slack will net you nothing in performance gains.
I removed the slack out of my throttle cable, there is hardley any slack left in it. I love the way it feels! after all of my friends felt my throttle, they did it to their cars too.

lightweight flywheel helps throttle response quite a bit.
and, aftermarket intake tubes with smooth intake tubes help speed the intake charge, and will help with throttle response.
I do agree that removing any slack in your idle will help, assuming you don't remove too much, it shouldn't affect your idle at all.

try advancing timing to 18d btdc or at least check where your timing is. I've found them off from the factory in the past. stock is 16d +/-2.
