i have a 98 integra gsr with a vtec controller and my check light always turns on whenever the vtec is on for like about 20 seconds. It is set to engage at about 4600 rpm. So whenever my rev is over 4600 for like 10-20 seconds, my check light turns on. Do u think using the obd2 to obd1 conversion harness will solve this problem? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

i have checked the oil but i think that its the vtec oil pressure switch bc i jumped the diagnostic plugs together and the code was 22. So i think dats the problem but not so sure. Wat can i do to make this stop??
It probably is the oil, not enough pressure/incorrect reading. Remove the solenoid and clean out the little metal filter, and also clean out the inside of the solenoid passageways. THEN change your oil!
Here's how it works - the VTEC pressure plug is only a switch. Once the oil pressure reaches a certain level, the pressure switch closes the circuit giving a good reading to the ECU. The ECU will only activate VTEC if it gets the 'thumbsup' from the pressure switch - SO, in your case the ECU is NOT getting the proper signal from the pressure switch, thus the CEL turns on during VTEC. Of course VTEC is not engaging because of this, but it will only throw the code when the ECU checks for the pressure (during VTEC).
Maybe your pressure switch is bad, maybe you don't have enough oil, maybe the solenoid housing is clogged or maybe you have a bad connection.
Good luck!
