piston help!

Default piston help!

i blew my b16....just wondering who has taken their block to get bored/honed and pistons installed...i think i blew my # 4 cylinder piston..so im going to take it apart tomorrow and bring it to a shop to have some ctr .20 over pistons installed....how much did it cost you guys for labor and the work....again im pulling it out of my car and putting it back in myself....

p.s i know every shop is different im asking how much you were charged

15 a hile to bore and hone, 80 to press on ctr's and shave the rods

im praying its that cheap....i need to start saving....i just spent $400 to find out my timing was off which is why the car wouldnt idle.....the same day it blew up wtf..

$125 for bore/clean (Looks like new), assembled myself. Head was damaged when piston exploded, have your head checked.

i did a compression test today....wasnt good... #1 0 #2 75 #3 25 # 4 75

i have never done anything like this before somebody give me a run down on what i need to have a reliable motor with ctr pistons in it...or what other pistons are good.... can i use stock b16 rods?etc......i dont want to go to crazy but i need it to last

Low compression on all four, it's probably your head that's screwed, not your block. Check your timing belt, fix it if it's off, then do another compression check. I'm pretty sure your only problem is bent valves on cylinders 1 and 3.

yeah im kind of hopeing its my pistons though so i can just rebuild it ......i heard a big POP!!! my timing belt is still tight...the spark plug is bend in one cylinder....when i have time ill take it apart and show u some pics

has anybody put p30 pistons in a del sol??i want my compression to be around 10.8-11....

Honda put P30 pistons in there and i'm sure many others have done it too. Seriously though, P30's are the stock B16A3 pistons.

i know but jdm will bump it like .2 right? i dunno maybe ctr would be better then
