Passing emission tricks
What? Oh your tune is crap. Or maybe its not. If you tell the truth maybe we can give good advice. In the begining of this thread you said you had Skunk 2 tuner 2's.
Now youre saying they are custom...
S2t2 cams easily pass emissions testing with a simple VAFC. How do I know? Im a smog tech here in CA. I test vehicles every day,including the various modified vehicles of friends. Smog testing here is much more vigorous than in WA. Dont get butt hurt 'cuz you may have a bad tune. Ive seen a lot of "good" tuners come and go. Ive been in the Honda game for 20 years and still am. Youre a clown and your tune was crap or your lying or some ****. Who knows cant get a straight answer outta you. Smile every day at that son....

Uh huh. Save it. Part throttle tune is not the same as a WOT tune. A good tuner can do both, but not all tuners can. I make blanket statements based on the info provided...
You're calling me a clown for what reason? Because my car has a nice build and would not pass emissions? I used Tuner 2's as a description to save confusion on others behalf. The car it tuned at WOT and partial throttle. It was on the dyno for 4 hours dialing in cam gears, timing and the AFR's. Since you've been in the game "20 years and still are" then you should know about the speedfactory boys and the work they do. If I wasn't happy with the tune James would be more than willing to load it back up and satisfy my needs. I have been going to their shop for 7+ years now so I'm not just some random he got money from then never sees again. The fact you're a smog tech and think you know it all is just showing your ignorance. And using statements like "I passed my friends w/ tuner 2's"...well no **** you're not going to fail a friend. I don't know where this notion of no straight answers is coming from, the only thing "I lied" about what the exact specs of my cams. They have tuner 2 characteristics through and through so I used it as a basic comparison. I'll lay down my full build and let you "the expert" decide.
82mm GSR block
GSR crank, rods and PR3 RS machine slugs (11.4:1)
OE headgasket
B16A2 head w/ stock port and 3 angle valve job
ST Ti retainers and NA dual springs
Custom ground cams (primaries midway between pro series and stock w/ tuner 2 vtec lobes...exact specs) Dialed in at -2 exhaust and +3 intake, ignition timing 32 advanced
P30 intake manifold portmatched to a P30 TB serviced by Maxbore (66-64 taper)
3" intake pipe w/ BPi Velocity stack
RC 310's
RMF narrow header
Magnaflow Ultra-flow cat
Apexi WS2 catback
Tuned and running on Chevron 92
AFR's at partial throttle hold steady between 14.2 and 14.5. At WOT 12.8-13.2
Around town I get 25-28mpg and on the highway at least 30+
The only factor I can possibly consider that would cause this problem is the fact it was tuned when it was about 75 degrees out and emissions in the winter its been about 40 degrees.
Anyways I'm not going to compete in a pissing match. I passed the test, my car runs like a dream and emissions are pathetic...especially when it's a project car and I drive a Dmax daily that spews black smoke and passes. Also instead of saying "shitty tune" why not try to throw some of your "expert knowledge" out there to HELP give advise for people to pass rather than get on here and try to put people down?
I smile every day I go to work...I'm not cramming probes in tailpipes and running OBD scanners...I got a college degree so I wouldn't have to do pointless work every day.

I make 75k cramming probes into tailpipes and have an innate understanding of the complexities of exhaust gas analysis to aid in determining an engines state of health and operating condition and at the same time can diagnose and repair in a Honda a Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmit comm fault. You keep going to school son. And make sure I get some curly fries with that Jumbo Jack.....
I wasn't trying to call anyone out besides to say my tune isn't ****. The reason it it probably running on the rich side right now is because of the cooler weather. I also wasn't trying to put your profession/lifestyle/career down, I was just making a general statement that I am an educated member on this forum unlike MANY others who get on here pointing fingers and spreading all sorts of false information and causing drama. I respect a working man...especially someone in your shoes who is legit and doesnt do stuff under the table. There was never an attemp to attack anyone in particular, just get the facts out there for proper interpretation. I was just rubbed the wrong way when I was called a liar and I am being accused of providing false information when in fact I was providing general info to allow for better insight on the topic at hand, plus I'm not looking to dump a shitty car on anyone...I have done nothing but top notch efforts with this car. Seriously I wasn't trying to start a war with you, I was just backing myself up and standing my ground where I knew I had a spot to be. Like you I am a very aggressive and forward person and through that we have BOTH shared very useful information for others to use for future reference and as a learning tool. Too bad it meant we whipped the dicks out for a game of swords first. I respect you and what you have said, and I hope you too have the same regards for me. I'm not on here yanking anyones chain or to try and say I'm better than anyone and know it all...I don't. Compared to most 23 year olds I feel I hold a pretty good place however, versed in both the FI and Carbeurated fields both domestically and imports.
I am done with school and have started a professional career in criminal justice, I can't disclose more info on it as my line of work relies on secretive aspects. Also I would gladly take the Jumbo Jack but dont like curly fries...natural all the way. Too bad I'm cutting weight for a competition at the end of the month
Anyways again, I never intended to have an "e-fight" just get all the BS straightened up. Put your knowledge to use in a way people don't get so defensive and you have alot to provide to all of us.

I apologize for being insulting,but I know what I know, and when someone calls me out on it I tend to get defensive. Besides I was gonna let it go until you said, "crickets...thats what I thought" That kind of irked me.
I can feel it, I tend to antagonize sometimes...but then again who doesn't when they have good info to back up what they say. Being defensive by nature is acceptable and I understand your aspect on things. Just put yourself and my shoes and we have a mutual understanding.
