Default Oxygen sensor question

How do you know if the 02 sensor is working ok?
I disconnected mine when I put in my new exhaust last night and ran the car without one.
I didn't get a Check Engine Light like I though I would.
Does that mean anything? Aren't you supposed to? Could it be because I am running a Hondata unit (I thought the CELs are supposed to work the same with Hondata and that only the fuel/ignition maps are different).

may be on your ROM, you selected the option of running the without oxygen sensor...this is use only for tuning..after tuning, you supposed to deselect this option...perhaps you forgot or someone tuned your car forgot?

thats probably what it is. I have a tuning session this weekend. the chip i have is only a baseline program. Could that be why i am rough idling a bit and have a surge/hesitation problem at low throttle position??

There is no way i can tell you what exact what the problem is with your ROM without looking at it. If you have a copy of it on your computer, just email it to me and I'll look at it and tell you what's wrong....otherwise, we are just playing a guessing game.
