Default oversized head stud?

ive heard a few ppl mentioning runnin oversized (1/2") studs in the b series blocks. wondering which studs are used, and what tap/size is used on the block?

reason i ask is because i got a block that was helicoiled and is pulling out, it also chewed up my arp stud....

I've also heard bout these. My friend ran it on his race car. RS machines does this for 300 or so not sure. Head studs are probably custom. Call up RS and see what they have to say .

We run A1 head studs they are 1/2 in. They are awesome studs. They are very very expensive and hard to get. Each stud with nut and washer will cost you about $40.00. If that was not bad enough in order for A1 to make you them you have to buy at least 20 (they want you to buy more but if you beg they might do it for you). Now if you are doing the math that is about $800 before tax and shipping. Also remember that if you do go with and oversize stud. You have to drill your head and your gasket. I have no problems at all with A1 they are probably the best head stud that I have ever used.

i just switched to a 1/2 inch head stud and it cost alot to get it done... but there is a noticible difference from the standard size. if u got the money to switch do it.
