ARP head stud question...?
Do ARP head studs required to be installed by a machine shop? Particularly, to thread in the studs into the block?
I've tried doing it by hand, like the instruction say, but haven't had very much luck.

The thread pitch on both ends are different. The block side is 1.5 and the head side is 1.25.
Make sure you don't have them in upside-down.

I would thread it in by hand, but with the aid of vice-grips or 'double-nutting' the stud. I do this til the stud 'bottoms-out' in the block. This causes the stud to not protude enough into the head to get the nut on.
If the stud is not 'bottomed-out', then the nut ends up pulling up the stud out of the block, when attempting to tighten down the nut.
I'm installing this into my ZC, and bought ARP studs intended for a D16Z. The over-all lenght of the stud is the same as the factory head bolt.
