Oil light ...help
so i just recently did a new headgasket on my 93 dx... everything seemed to be running fine for like 2 weeks now until this morning my oil light started blinking off and on.... then as i started getting home to check the problem it started making a rattling noise from driver side cylinder... oil level is fine.. i removed the spark plug from that cylinder and it had a white chalky residue on the top..
You can get tools that will get the code for the oil light as well as other diagnostics for your car on eBay

checked oil dipstick.... there isnt even any oil level on it let alone any oil on it.... so i think im gonna drop the oil pan change oil filter and see if there is any thing in the oil ..... i think something is clogged but i have no clue where
you didnt change the oil when you did the swap
Rule 1: Change ALL fluids when you do a motor swap, this includes oil, tranny fluid and coolant
edit: opps i read it wrong, you might havea leak, but a clog is more then likely

while the car is running at idle, pull the oil sending unit plug. The oil light should come on right away. If it doesn't you have a bad sending unit. But NO oil on the dipstick. damn that suck. Like you said drop the pan. But the dipstick goes right down into the pan, so i dont see why no oil. Drain the oil and see how much oil is in the pan. Should be 3.8 qts. They way you are explaining, is simple...YOU HAVE NO OIL!!!

actually, if you pull the plug of the stock oil pressure switch, the oil light will not come on.

Really?? Thanks for the correction. Mine was doing the same thing. I called Honda, and the tech there said "If you pull the oil sending unit plug out while the car is running, it should throw a light". I said "why". He said. "Because when you pull it out, the plug does not see ANY oil pressure". I said. ok cool

well, i have mine disconnected.
the stock switch is grounded through the block, if you disconnect the connector the light wont come on; unless of course it touches ground

just the other night now my dam light started st flicker agian and bog down when trying to accelerate..wtf and there is oil pumping through but the pinging is slowly coming back
I don't have the same problem with the oil, but I also did find white chalky residue at the top of the spark plug. My engine doesn't start and my guess is that a warped head from a blown headgasket. Anyone have any ideas what the white chalky residue is?
Thanks,
-Brian.
