Noise When I Shift
You can hear it when you shift from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd, only when you push the clutch in and the RPM fall, and im sure you could hear it in the other gears too but your going to fast to hear it, not to sound like a ricer, but it almost sounds like a blow off valve on low boost, like a soft whistle, and im pretty sure you can hear it just a little bit when your in a gear giving it gas, its a hard noise to explain, thanks in advanced
My car has an rpm dependent exhaust rattle that sounds just like that. It's only noticeable as the engine drops revs because the sound is hard to hear over the engine if the throttle is open. It happens around 2700 rpm for me. I know mine's an exhaust rattle because it happens independent of clutch position, throttle position, or vehicle speed, but it's very hard to hear over the engine except when the engine revs drop when I put the clutch in.

Mines a 96 GSR. I'm not saying you've definitely got an exhaust rattle, but your description sounds similar to my situation. Try lightly revving the engine up and listening for the noise.
