Ls/V-tec setup--what to need??????????
here is a simple answer i found from a simple SEARCH complete parts list as stated in November Sport Compact Car
-B series VTEC head
-VTEC ECU
-B series VTEC dist
-90-01 LS head gasket
-94-01 GS-R head bolts
-94-01 GS-R timing belt
-94-01 GR-R knock sensor***
- -4 braided steel lines 22in. with female ends
-1/8" NPT female to 1/8" NPT female to 1/8" BSPT male on run pipe tee
-1/8" NPT male to -4 male straight adapter
-3/8" NPT male to -4 male straight adapter
-1/8" internal pipe plug
-1/8" NPT pipe tap
-3/8" NPT pipe tap
-14mm drill bit
-10.9mm drill bit
-12mmX1.25mm tap
***if you use Hondata you do not need to drill and tap the block for a knock sensor.
-so depending on which route you go you may need a knock sensor.
-also you can not use an LS dist. it mounts differently than a VTEC dist. along with the section that is used for timing/rotating i believe is also different.
-ARP rod bolts would be a great investment since they are considered the peak link in the LS/VTEC
or go grab the november sport compact car, which is where this list is originally from.

go to http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com and buy their LS/VTEC conversion kit, it will save u the hassle. The knock sensor is only needed if u run a DOHC VTEC ecu. many ppl run chipped ecus that do not need the knock sensor. I just finished mine and i ended up using a P30 ECU and taped out the hole in the upper part of the head and put the knock sensor there. Many ppl drill and tap the alternator bracket but u need to remove the engine to do that. My way works good and it will sense knock. An issue stated many times is the timing belt. If you use a VTEC water pump, u need the vtec belt. If u use the non-vtec water pump, use the non-vtec timing belt. Its recomended that u use the vtec water pump. I am going to put one when i change my timing belt this spring.
