how to make a ls v-tec ?
i have a ls engine in my 99 civic.i also have a complete gsr head. what else do i need to buy and do to make the ls-v-tec conversion? and i need it to be reliable becouse i drive it every day.how easy is the conversion,or do i need a proffesional machanic to do it?i also herd there easy to blow,what exactly causes them to blow.is it becouse of the low oil or just other stuff.my last question is how come honda doesnt make a factory ls v-tec motor if there so powerful.

most honda's were made to save gas not to be powerful... well to answer your other questions i don't know if it's correct but you need ls vtec lines, vtec water pump, gsr timing belt and, head gasket, and vtec ecu most likely p28 because i think ls motors don't have knock sensor

everybody has to start somewhere, and i guess this is the best place to start to find answers. honestly you should've done a search first. if your seriuos about building a ls/vtec, h-t has many discussions on them. my help to you is start with
c-speed racing, their website will tell you how to build a ls/vtec. gathering all information from various websties and on this board will let you know if ls/vtec is good for your needs. theres always gonna be arguements on ls/vtec buildups, why they leak oil, why didn't honda make them, why don't they last long, etc. but like i said it's up to you.

If Honda used ACL bearings as OE then they can do it. They don't so bearing failure is unacceptable.
