Just installed tranny....few problems......help
okay so i just swapped my DX tranny out for a EX one and i have two questions. One the brand new throwout bearing makes noise....just a sorta light chatter when the clutch is disengaged and it goes away when engaged. my friends told me that the chattter is normal for a new bearing and will eventually go away. is this true? secondly, since the swap its very very hard to shift from gear to gear. its not like theres resistance going into gear but more like someone is holding the shift linkage from underneath making it really hard to move. why would this happen? my and my friends think its because either the linkage or the stabalizer bar got bent. would this be a cause for the problem? thanks for any help!
EDIT: would i need to run the EX shift linkage in order to use the EX tranny on my DX motor? Heres a little more info....my motor is a 1994 DX and the tranny i put on is a 96+ EX tranny.
EDIT #2: AFter searching thru archives i've found some things that may be the problems so i'll ask you guys. When i swapped tranny i pulled the thing that pushes the fork out and just pushed it too the side. No clutch fluid came out at all so would there be any reason to flush my fluid and stuff? Would this be the reason for hard shifting? LIke the clutch isnt disengaging all the way?

If the problem is hydraulics you'd have trouble moving thru the synchro. That doesn't feel exactly the same as dragging on the shift linkage. Basically, if there's drag against every kind of motion then it sounds like the shift linkage. If it shifts smoothly when you're stopped & the engine's not running, then it could be the clutch.

Unbolt the shift linkage from the bottom of the shifter and move the linkage in and out by hand (you'll be shifting from 3 to 4 doing this, unless you twist the linkage). It should slip from one gear to another smoothly (with the engine off). If it's rough, there's something wrong with the transmission.
