NO VTEC?!!!

Default NO VTEC?!!!

B18C1 into OBD0 90 integra

parts used:
OBD0 engine harness
OBD1 P72 ECU
ODB0-OBD1 conversion harness.

Car runs fine but no VTEC. Whats wrong? anyone know how to fix this?

Did you make sure that the wires were added to operate the VTEC solenoid?

no cel's...and yes wires were added for the VTEC...could it be that the VTEC selonoid is bad?

test it, give 12v to it and hear if it clicks.wiring all ok?

used the P72 ECU and no VTEC.......used another OBD1 ECU and the VTEC kicks in....whats wrong with my P72?

Maybe it's vtec drivers are blown.

what was the other ecu you used usdm or jdm?

how are you scanning for CELs?

Also, a lot of chipped programs don't have the diagnostic CELs...

the other ECU was a Type R ECU...not sure if it was usdm or jdm...does the blown vtec drivers mean i cant use the p72 anymore?

well...if you switched ecu's and vtec worked then its obvioulsy the ecu

you could use it on an LS, or send it to someone and see if they can repair it. (Like me.)

the shop where my cars at said that all i need to do was chip the p72 with a racing chip and then the VTEC will work. They said that the VTEC is RPM activated. is this true?

By the way, the type R ECU that I used which made VTEC work was chipped.
