If you have the receipt that says GSR block then call up a lawyer. You didn't get what you paid for simple as that. Either that or take him to small claims court.

Talk to Viren(b18bturbo) Great seller and great builder. I got everything as promised from him and prompt on shipping and good 1 on 1 customer service. Not to mention his killer packages. I got a whole motor (LS/VTEC, sleeved, piston/rod, JG pro series head, all assembled) for under 3300. This motors price and quality is equivelant to just the price of a block on some other sites.

Not to mention I got the motor about a week and a half after ordering it.

Total BS. This kind of thing is what gives the import industry a bad name.

I got news for you people who think I ripped that kid off.

You were not there, you don't know what happened. Not even that guy Kong himself knows what happened because he was not even involved!

That is what you people don't get. You think he ordered the motor from me, and told me everything he wanted personally.

Wrong. Another guy did, and I talked to him on the phone about what he wanted. This guy Kong didn't talk to me, and the first time I met him was when he came to watch me dyno it!

And whoever thinks an LS/VTEC won't stomp a GSR motor, has alot to learn. Alot to learn. All I have to say is one thing..

"what if the customer SPECIFICALLY asks to have a motor that DOES not rev very high because he wants to keep it reliable? Still think a GSR is better? No? I rest my case.

That is a perfect example of people jumping in to mock me when they don't even know the facts. The order asked for a low revving, powerfull motor. LS/VTEC is the best B series.

And another thing you people don't know about, is the $$$ we did that job for and ALL the exact parts that were involved in that job. We did that job for cheap, but a bunch of people want to jump on here and say thats too much money. You don't even know what it came with? So why even post!

The bottom line is, NEVER, EVER work on somebodies car in this business. DO NOT touch ANYONE's car. So many shops have closed in So Cal in the last year its not even funny. Because every shop is finally figuring out, working on cars, is a financial loss in alot of cases. If ANYTHING goes wrong with that car, no matter who's fault it is, they are going to bring it back and DEMAND you fix it for free, almost every time. A large %, not all.

You do a motor, somebody changes a part, the A/F ratio goes to 15:1 and now its the shops fault that did the motor. Of course! Blame ALL the problems on Jeff! Because the badmouthing will cost Jeff business! Because fo this JEff is compelled to fix anything for free!

You know, I don't care at all about people badmouthing me. As long as I do what is right, and don't rip anyone off, I will be fine. Sometimes, at every shop, people perceieve that somebody got ripped off. No shop can escape that. But the God's Honest truth? That might be a different story.

And I am doing the best I can. If you people think there is a perfect shop out there...I got news for you.

I agree with what you just said. I havent bashed on your shop since I know that you know your ****. This clearly happened over a year ago, and Im still planning on bringing my car to your shop when I move to LA for a while.

Jeff has had a great rep on this site, until this kid posted his experience from a year ago. Since then there has been no discrepencies with his service and work.

Why should this be deleted, someone asked a question and it was answered. I have experienced some "in my eye's' bad stuff with Importbuilders, but for as much of the bad I have also experienced alot of good with them. There's 2 sides to every story and the truth is, there both telling what they beleive to be the truth. So its up to the reader to decide who they beleive and make their decision with the info thats available. That was the point of the original question.(I beleive)

 

who's the middle man? sounds like they f_cked both of you over if you take what has been posted by both sides at face value. Anything to make an extra buck or get that extra part that's better for yourself..sounds like a Better Business Bureau report to me. Sounds like we should know all the players if you really want to get at the truth here. Good lesson for all of us...no middle man, get it signed and in writing in person as to what was sent and that they received itemized what you sent. Legal documentation is a great deterrent for getting slimed later.

My engine builder laughs at me when I come in with my binder and have him sign off each part he has received but it makes him accountable for everything I dropped off, what I expect to receive as services for the price asked...win-win...he admits it's good for him and myself for me to do this....

So learn from this experience...

 

For every 100 things a shop does good, and then somebody percieves 1 bad thing..that 1 bad thing overrides the 100 good things.

Like I said..

You people out there who think every shop is perfect, stop modifying your car, because Jesus Christ does not own a shop and does not work on cars.

Somebody lodges a complaint against you, they report it, and then to get a rebuttal to it posted up, you have to pay like $300 to join their cult.

Screw them man. Some guy filed a complaint against me because he mis-****** his car, overrevved it and bent all his valves, he blamed me for his mis-shift. LIke valves get all bent by themselves....

The the BB calls me up and tried to sell me the $300+ dollar package in order that I can rebute that claim. That is damn extortion. Then that guys false claim gets filed against me because I won't pay to join the cult..

I hope you have a business one day, so you can get a FIRST HAND taste of how bad the BBB is.

Jeff, you have done a pretty good job of defending yourself and for all I know you could be 100% right or 100% wrong.

However, I can't help to draw a parallel from this whole mess to every pre-concieved notion of Endyn. I don't want to hear people sad about no SC, but to me he is just as legit as yourself. I have bought parts off both you and him, and both have given me excellent service, and I know that you two did work together.

Its just a little ironic that you have been put in the same position that many people put Larry in, and instead of not logging on boards and defending himself, you were lucky enough to clear up any story.

To the best of luck to all professionals in the business, and I do feel that you (jeff) could have more respect for the indirect customer whether it was his fault or not. Its just plain bad manners, and you, the professional should have been the bigger man and acted more professional to the whole ordeal. Both him and you have a different side of the story, and it should just be sorted out in a civilized manner.

Not even close. not even. I don't care to discuss that, its over, I have forgiven him for everything he did, and you can feel free to buy anything from larry, anytime you want, with my blessing.

And I gave him the respect he deserved, I went out of my way for him many times. I didn't work a 16 hour work day when he came because I don't like him or respect him.

Note to consumers

If you have a problem with any shop, ask them about it as a first step, because coming on the internet saying a bunch of bad things will get you nothing but disrespect, hate and not what you want.

I stand by what I said. We did nothing wrong. And you or somebody else would have to kill me for me to change my mind. Thats how strongly I feel about it.

As God is my witness, I don't intentionally hurt anybody, or rip anyone off. God knows.

This business is extremely hateful, and hard. If anyone thinks its easy, you try it.

People badmouth me that have never even met me, or know me. Now that, is pathetic.

I am not "closing" per se. I am still selling almost everything I sell now, but we are not going to work on cars, or dyno cars...

I might go stricly wholesale. My lease is up here, and I don't want to re-up. I would rather just sell parts, and not touch anyones car.

If anyone wants their car worked on, I will contract it to another person.

I will put up a list soon of people I trust to work on your car, all over the USA. You can go to them to get work done on your car...

because we are done over here. Look what happens? We touch somebodies car, it runs good, then they change a TB, then it runs lean and the shop gets blamed. And my name is slandered all over the internet because they think I am shady.

What can I possibly do to stop that? Anyone?

1) Not work on cars. ever. Period. Then they can blame the shop that did the swap for them instead...

Jeff is a good guy. If I didn't believe this, I wouldn't drive 1.5hrs in LA traffic to hang out at the shop.

I am glad that I met him through the import community. All my business with him went through with no problems, in fact he has gone out of his way numerous times for me.

 

I've never purchased anything from Jeff, but I have friends who have and they didn't have any problems. Sometimes **** happens, and I think this was probably the case, and if fault had to be assigned, maybe it is an even split. If Jeff was out screwing ppl, it wouldn't take long for it to surface here, and I haven't heard anything bad.

Anyway, I hope you aren't closing shop. Running any kind of business is hard, not just the import tuning business, and most of the ppl here are probably too young to underdstand what it takes to pull it off month after month.

just to make sure everyone is clear about who I was referring to.

 

I guess the quality of any shop is how they handle situations like this...

it's how they behave under such situations described here...it's one thing to say that you can't please everyone but when a customer had a b18c1 ecu and expects a bored out/resleeved b18c1 and gets an ls/vtec with a civic ecu back (if this is indeed the case) then the middle man shop has totally dropped the ball.
