The ECU is a core exchange, because I have Hondata ready ECU's in stock for
people like you. The P07 or whatever ecu you have, is exactly the same as
the GSR brain. No difference at all. Also, the TB is causing your idle
problems. Those large TB's often do that.
If you would like a re-tune to check out your car, we would do that at a
reduced price from normal. If you would liek to come in like in a week or
so, that would be great.

I have done business with jeff a few times. even met him when i was in cali in january. I have bought many parts from him and have always gotton em. Sometimes a lil mixup in communication caused a delay but i got everything as promised.
for misc. info.......p05,p06,p07......the ecus do work with hondata but they must be sent away and converted. hondata charges a fee of 125 for this and it can be done in 2 days. A stock vx ecu isnt compatible with hondata but a modified one will work just fine. but none have knock except for the p72

So what are both parties (IB, alpha, and ?? shop) going to do about getting the situation solved?
major points I see are, wrong cr. ratio pistons, ls block and not gsr, possible problem with ecu.

#5 You said you pulled back the carpet and saw that you had a CIVIC VX ECU? Are you insane? That ECU is INCOMPATABLE with Hondata! And you had Hondata! How the hell could I "rip you off" and use an ecu that can't even work! LOL man.
It doesn't work HUH??? Than why is it in my car!!! Why did you put it in my car??? If it doesn't work then how come my car drives with it and Hondata on it. Call and ask Lawrence if you don't believe me!!! He and other shops couldn't believe how shady you are Jeff!!! Atleast give me back my ECU!!!

That's the thing. He just stated that he didn't give me a VX ECU because it wouldn't work with Hondata, however the one in my car is a VX ECU. Apparently Jeff must of had the ECU modified by Hondata for it to work. Is that a lie or what!! LOL at you buddy!
The third party is just my friend who called Jeff because he had done business with Jeff before. We went through Jeff together so there wouldn't be confusion since Jeff does business with him (painting and such). But I did have a few e-mails with Jeff, and constantly called him (every two days) throughout the build. Like I said, Jeff wasn't present when we dropped off the vehicle. I did get the invoice saying full GSR. There were multiple people there who witnessed that. I mean, Jeff's very own employee took down what I wanted!! He even assured me my GSR block was sent out to be sleeved!! My friend was there the whole time, and he actually had Tomo look for our correct invoice and even verified the full GSR build.
All I would ask for now is my GSR block back and my ECU. Is that asking too much. When I left IB, I saw my block on the side with a bunch of other blocks and motors. I even verified the VIN. The block was still stock and fully assembled.

A CIVIC VX computer CAN NEVER WORK WITH HONDATA EVER because it uses a wideband 02 sensor...its not compatable.
I did not give that ecu to you. Stop blaming me for things I am not responsible for.
YOU WERE NOT OUR CUSTOMER You were ANOTHER companies customer, you didn't pay me 8 grand man. You paid the OTHER company.
You put a huge TB on your car and it made your car run super lean, because of this, you detonated the hell out of it, and jacked it all up.
And you blame me for this! That is irrational! I am the one who told you you absolutely MUST retune by putting on that TB. You said no.
Thats on you.
This is over a year ago. Stop getting all mad, your problems were not because of us.
1) I didn't put a huge TB on your car and cause it ro run lean and detonate, which jacked it up. You did that.
2) You didn't pay us to do that work, you paid another company, thus you are not my customer, you are THAT SHOPS CUSTOMER.
3) YOu are wrong about the ECU, because a VX ECU cannot be made to run with Hondata.
4) You should have read the description of package 2 before you paid the other company to get it. It clearly lists 195+ HP. Which you got.
Next time, go directly to the shop doing the work, and pay them, and make them write down exactly what you want. So you can get it.
I never talked to you during the process at all, the person you paid talked to me.
Why are you saying "you went to JEFF" You ABSOLUTELY DID NOT COME TO ME MAN! IF you came to me, you would have paid me, you paid a shop up where you live to do the job.
You went through Jeff together? Thats why I didn't even know your name or what you looked like until you came to pick up the car? Then the shop you paid had to wire me the money? Notice you didn't pay me anything yet?
And why are you calling Tomo when you paid somebody other than Tomo? At another shop? It seems logical you should be calling the person you PAID!
Why would you even call here? You didn't pay us, you are not our customer.
How clear is that? Its clear. get past it man, you can't be modifying your engine without re-tuning it. Which you did. Don't blame us for that.
And no need to start badmouthing people and dragging other people's names into this. This is over, its finished, and I am sorry you hurt your motor.
You live and you learn. Good luck in the future. You don't need to come to us again, because we are closing very soon and won't work on any cars again. So when we are gone, who will you blame then? Its been over a YEAR. You would think you would have brought it to tune somewhere when it was detonating like crazy. But you didn't. Now you know what detonation does. And you probably won't let that happen again.
Good luck, have a nice life.

This guy didn't even PAY US, he PAID ANOTHER SHOP, thus has no business even talking to me about anything.
This guy waits a year to complain? Dude, I would have been down to the shop I paid to do the job right AWAY if I had a problem!
Oh wait, you didn't pay us, you paid another shop. Your not my customer.
How many times can I tell you, your not my customer, you didn't pay us.
How many times? Call Hondata, BTW and tell them you have a VX computer than runs Hondata. I think they would be THRILLED to hear that.
And you even posted my e-mail where I asked you to come back to tune to help you!!
AND YOU DIDN'T WANT TO COME!
And then you blame me! My e-mail PROVES I wanted to help you, but you didn't want to come!!! So don't lecture me on your problems. You went at this all wrong man. All wrong.
You know, you can't just go around spreading lies about reputable shops right? If you hurt my business, you can be held responsible.
Your giving a bad name to every honest customer out there and shop by posting such garbage man. YOur dragging down the industry.
P.S. I don't think LAwrence said those things he is reputable. Why woudl the guy badmouth me? I have done nothing to him!

a lot of engine builders I have talked to about breaking in motors, recomend taking out the cams and re-tourqing the head after it has been broken in or within 5k miles.
it is a big pain, but might have helped with your eninge
pointing fingers is not going to get anyone happy. first need to establish the problem, second should be to fix it. Seeing as how IB is the 3rd person involves, I think alpha needs to talk to his shop and get the problems fixed, then bring IB into this. alpha has not confirmed or denied what most of jeff is talking about. it sounds like jeff just followed what he was told to do by alphas shop
it sounds like jeff, wanted to help, and still possibly might help, even though what has happended.
im not on anyones side, i just want to see the situation get fixed

jeff wouldn't be in business if he were doing "shady" work.
obviously his motors make power and have proven to be reliable...and its highly unlikely he would do anything like this because one motor is not worth the shitty reputation...
most people who own their own businesses can look beyond the present and into the future, as its your reputation that creates business for your company in the future.
while i am not saying alpha gsr is lying about his situation, it sounds like he is placing blame on the wrong business...
hope it all works out.

Yes thank you.
I don't think he is saying we build bad motors, he knows we build very strong ones.
I just think there was a miscommunication between too many people, and a misundertanding on how Hondata actually works with what ECU.
That all.

Jeff, your speaking about logic but your logic is flawed. You build a motor for a contractor who then gives the motor to someone, this someone is your customer. He has your motor, and is openly going to throw the IB name around, and you received payment for the motor, even though it was thorugh a middle man. Its not the customers fault that he got the wrong block, the error was somewhere between the 2 shops and thats where its should of been worked out. If you don't want situations like this to pop up on the internet than take more consideration to the average joe when it happens. Your tone and imaturity doesn't say anthing good for you in this thread.
you can't always be right.
I'm truely sorry to hear your going out of business

Funny...today while @ IB...I happened to ask Jeff if he had any use for my old VX ECU for hondata chipping....and he informed me that hondata isn't compatible with it. Look on the Hondata website...doesn't look like they list the vx ecu either.

I think that the problem is with the shop that built the motor and told Jeff what to do. At least that is what it seems like. They are giving Jeff a bad name and they screwed over Alpha. Just my $0.02.
yo ive done busniess with jeff and its a headace, but in the end it always came out the way it should have. I mean i had way more then 7k on a motor i had a fully built 22 coming from atomic, and if it wasnt fro jeff and mike i would have never gotten it. So i mean just put this **** to rest, jeff is a good guy he takes care of his people and most of his customers. Sure everyone is entitled to some mistakes, but overall his **** is good. I mean if u want a ecu so bad just do what everyone in the Socal area does. jack it like a decent so cal'lr.
i am just a reader here and i think ito make good on all ends you should at least return his gsr block back to him ... that is only fair and after that he should agree to stop posting about it because the problem would be solved ......
BTW when are you closing shop ???
BTW when are you closing shop ???
I've read evrerything in this thread .. and it definitlely seems like Alpha_GSR might have got taken ..
There's no doubt in my mind that Jeff knows what he's talking about.. but I'd be reluctant to do biz with him.
Will Alpha_GSR be getting some sort of .. "settlement" out of this? This thread really sits badly with Jeff's company's rep.
