Default How do i test a switch

im having a problem with my jdm fog light switch. i dont know why its not turning on, is there a way to check if the switch is working?

Hook up a voltmeter and see if there is current going through would be my guess.

check for resistance using a volt/ohm-meter.
put each of your 2 leads into the wires that run to the switch or into the back of the switch where the wires are most likely soldered, etc.

flip the switch one way or the other and see what the meter tells you. whether it has 3 wires or 2 just alternate with your leads and flip the switch back and forth and see what your readings tell you.

basically ZERO resistance would tell you that the switch is working while INFINITE means it is not.
do not to touch your two leads while doing this as this will give you false readings.

sorry im a noob at electrical stuff. i have this thing. is this a volt meter? if so what setting do i put it on? were do i put the red ang black thing?

you want to piont it at one of the omega ones (omega stands for ohm)... hrmm mebbe I'll just come down tomorrow and help you out I gotta go to Tustin Lexus for the 1k mi checkup on our GS anyway.
