if your using an OBD1 DX ecu, you should be having IACV problems...because the 96 DX (Y7) motor uses a 3-wire IACV...

You throwing any check engine lights?

Check your tps and map sensor wires. Make sure they are not crossed.

Im having a very similar problem with a obd0 b16a into an ef that I just built for a customer car.If I ease into the throttle than itll be ok,but if I stomp on the pedal it tries to do.Im thinking it may have something to do with the ignition timing, though the cam timing is dead on.Its not throwing any codes.
