Help! Brake light stays on while driving
I posted this awhile ago in the integra forum, but i still haven't found a solution.. you know if you drive with the e-brake just 1 click up so the "BRAKE" light inside the gauge cluster is on, it will disable the ABS. Well, even if my e-brake is all the way down, the "BRAKE" light stays on and when i drive for a while the ABS automatically disables itself. The ABS is not the root of my concern, it's trying to get the brake light to turn off when i release my e-brake. I checked the brake fluid, and it's fine. I pulled off the center console to inspect the switch, still checks fine. I double checked the 2 wires coming from the brake fluid reservoir cap, they're good to go. I've had this problem for a couple months now, and so far it seems like there is no solution! Can anybody help???
Is this an intermittent problem or does it happen regularly? If it's intermittent, my brother had this problem on his CRX. I know it's completely different system-wise, but nevertheless... it was caused by a leaking wheel cylinder. Rebuilding the rear wheel cylinders solved the problem. If it's continual, sorry, I can't help...
i filled up the brake and ABS reservoir to past full and then took off my neuspeed strut bar because it was crushing the 2 wires that lead to the brake reservoir cap.. i repositioned the wires and the light finally turned off! whoo hoo!
hey this just started happening to me in my si! I haven't checked the fluids though I'll check on this tommorow morning
I just realized what your post said and si's don't have abs. hmmmm any other ideas why this is happening?
