Help with B16A2 Crank ... Not original crank??
So I'm doing some work to get my B16A2 back to life, which has been dead for the last 3 months.
Long story short, the crank pulley bolt snapped.
Anyways, I just got around to extracting the broken bolt out of the crank.
I pulled off the lower timing belt cover, and there was a key in there.
As I went to put the engine at TDC, I noticed the timing belt gear was not moving the crank with it. Basically, it appears that the key that was in the lower timing belt cover was supposed to be in the keyway between the crank and the timing belt gear.
Which makes me
According to Helm, and the parts guide, I should have something like this:
My gear should look like part #12 in the above diagram.
However, what I see instead looks like this:
part #15 in the above diagram, which is from a B18C1.
Coincidentally, the B18C1 requires two keys, one for the gear, and one for the pulley.
So what does this mean? Did someone swap my crank out with one from a B18C1? Or is it possible that some B16A2's came like this as well?
I bought this engine second hand 3 years ago, so it wouldn't really suprise me if this was the case. Would that also mean it's possible I've got P72 pistons in there?
Arrrghhh...

d series have the trigger on the outside like #12
# 15 should fit the gsr or b16 crank. unless i am mising something. i have even put an obd2 sprocket on an obd1 engine with an obd2 pump to convert to obd2 on some cars. h.t.h.

It means you have a later crank pulley, OBD2, buy a key and you are fine. Its still a B16.
