Yup, we run them on Duc's and Brian's EJ's and it works great. There are things I like and there are things I dislike (their factory wiring is horrible and even after I rewired the entire harness they still never look as clean as MoTeC. There also is no room for expansion, no digi/aux inputs and outputs). Since you need to run an rpm activated switch for VTEC, the dataloggers are external, etc. you'll have a pile of electronics by the time you're done. If you've got the money for a standalone I would still consider MoTeC. What FAST system are you looking into? sequential/wideband?

Here's a few pics of Brian's after I finished it up awhile back. I always add in oil press, coolant temp, rpm, speedo, and reverse lights just because we're dealing with streetcars but it's by no means a must.

they may have modified the unit since you purchased one...they tell me their unit will control the vtec. Also, the only reason im going with FAST instead of motec is the fact that i work for COMP. im going to use a sequential with two stage nitrous control, wideband o2, and individual cylinder control. im going to use their data logger as well.

i planned on dicing up a factory harness for these features, and use all factory incar wiring for my gauges/indicators. what do you think about this idea?

I heard they were designing some new generation boxes but they aren't supposed to be out for awhile (maybe I'm mistaken) but VTEC outputs, etc. would be nice. We just bought 2 Honda sequential systems ~1 month ago and they're still the same. AR Fab has had some problems with F.A.S.T. misfiring injectors and blowing up motors but so far nothing that drastic has happened to us (keep your fingers crossed). As for adding the instrumentation wiring, that's exactly what I would do.

let me give the rundown real fast, so i can get some more input.

d16z6 block, d16y8 head, 4g civic hatch.

Since i can get the injection harness with whatever plugs i want, should i use a z6, a6, or y8 distributor?

nothing wrong wiht the FAST setup, it gets the job done, sync timing is off on some distributors, but sequential and wideband setup is great. there is an output which can be used to control vtec but its not reliable, better off on the window switch or rpm switch.

I personally always use OBDII distributors (I've only used FAST on B series motors tho) because of the single plug connector, I realize that will vary with SOHC motors. It's only for looks so I really wouldn't be too worried. Just stick with the Z6 or Y8 dizzy. Greg what output can you use for VTEC when the ECU's are running sequential injection and timing? When you activate those even the FLR and FAN outputs go bye bye. Just curious.
