Default which engine is better

well im gettin a d15b, but dont know which 1 to get. the one with dual vtec or the 130hp version? which 1 is better ppl? dont tell me to get a b, h, k series.

why don't you get d16z5 (d16a9) ? non-vtec 124hp(130hp)

Even though i probably will make many enemies, i wouldn't get a vtec, even though you get **** lots of performance parts, i just think it's overrated these days .

I'd get a D16 motor,and do the normal tune up and you'll have a good and affordable engine.

Get the JDM 2 stage vtec. Had it before did pretty good until I went to a B.

Dual vtec. . . explains itself. It has two vtec engangment point. If you look up close there's two vtec solenoids on it.

Non Vtec is better. Power all the time! No need to wait for it to engage.

why do ppl not answer the question that is at hand. I dont want to hear about other motors. just the 1s that are stated in the forum. plus non vtecs' have less power.

Do some research, compare how much torque each engine has. You will notice there is not a whole lot of difference between them. Torque is a better measurement of power.

Answer:
I say non vtec and spend the money you saved on bolt ons.

Rod/Stroke : 1.62
Compression : 9.6:1
Power : 128 hp (95.4 kW, 130 ps) @ 7000 rpm
Torque : 102 ft·lbf (14.2 kg/m, 138 Nm) @ 5300 rpm
Valvetrain : SOHC VTEC (3-4 valves per cylinder, depending on rpm)
VTEC Switchover : 2500 rpm (VTEC-E) & 6000 rpm (VTEC)
Fuel Control : OBD-2 MPFI
