Don't understand what happened..
I lined up with a Supercharged Stang...5.0 yesterday. Took his *** from the launch, Middle of second i'm already pulling on his *** and some BS happens..I move into third..perfect shift, no grind or anything but dig this, I got NO THRUST, all spin, no go..it was a dead gear. Were I not of sound mind to come back into neutral, and push it back in..I'd have lost. In any case I cleaned his *** out by 2 car lengths still after falling back a half a car due to this mishap..
Anyone ever have this happen to them before? I'd hate for something to be wrong with my trans but this is the FIRST time this has ever happened to me and as of now the car drives absolutely fine, no grinds no anything.

I thought that maybe my clutch was slipping initially but it's damn near brand new, and ontop of that the car drives absolutely fine. I got up at about 7 am and launched it from infront of my house straight down to the next light (Which is about 1/4 mile) and it performed no problems.
Hopefully it's a 1 time thing. And I know I wasn't in neutral when I did it, it was a full shift into third, unless nothing happened on the shift and the linkage didn't respond or some ****, either way that doesn't explain how it's working perfectly fine now.
While Doing a full throttle launch on a street under normal circumstances can be considered a bit retarded..in this case, when there is only 3 houses on your block and a BIG *** JUNKYARD with a straight-away next to it...I mean c'mon..if you came to visit you'd dig into your cars *** on your exit as well.
And as I stated the car DID GO INTO GEAR..I didn't miss a shift, it's just that once I was in gear and went for gas I got absolutely NOTHING. I'll ask you to not call me out of my name again, especially since i'm being nothing short of respectful to you despite your ignorant response.

Ignorant response or not, if a mod sees the thread, you might get banned for talking about street racing, so just cool it.
You said the clutch was brand new? Have you broke it in properly before beating on it? Most performance clutches require a 500 mile break-in period, which you should go different RPM ranges shifting. Most people say that just driving around town will do the trick. If you do not do this properly, the clutch will heat up and have glaze over it causing it to slip.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't know that was frowned on around here.
You're making perfect since in regards to the clutch though, I just swapped it out about a month ago and seeing as how I alternate between about 5-6 cars I guess it's justifiable to say that it's break in period hasn't been reached.
I can admit that i've never given any clutch I've installed a break in period, hell i've dropped in clutches and started beating them up fresh out the driveway. So when you say shifting to different RPM ranges should I spend time driving it with restraint shifting at lower Rev points or should I continue to give it the gusto but just switch gears sooner?
