okay I was having idle problems and on my way taking my car to the garage to get work done. And it got stuck in second gear. it also developed a weird type of burning smell and I could not get it to go into neutral or any other gears.so I pulled off the road and turn the car off with the car on the on position I can push the clutch and shifted gears other years but when I start the car I can't get it out of second gear and I can shift with the clutch in but it just stays in 2nd gear. please help as i do not know what's going on

 

Obviously you'd first want to check the linkage. It's possible it came loose or broke.

 

What year is your car? If the car is off, and the clutch is out, does it hold the car in place in 2nd gear?

 

Its a 95, and yes

 

So it ended up being my tranny and clutch blew out

Kind of... My transmission got stuck in 4th, Nd going from start stop traffic while trying to keep driving blew out my clutch

 

Oh ****. U were in heavy traffic trapped in 4th gear? I'm surprised ur car didn't literally shake to pieces. Goodbye flywheel and clutch disc.
