D16Y8 Main Bearings?
People say that the D16Y8 main bearings fail easily, is there any other way to prevent them from failing other than buying better ones?
A few things will make a bearing fail...low oil pressure or too hot of oil...revving a motor beyond what the bottom end is built to (balance, rod bolts, main bearing bolts and the strength of the rods)...and bad clearancing and setup. OEM bearings are the only bearing that I use personally and I know several other Honda engine builders that will not use anything else either.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just asked because i've read a few people saying the Y8 bearings were weaker than the Z6's. See, i read this stuff when i was looking up info on a SOHC Vtec swap into my rex. Anyways, thanks for the feedback guys
