bearing questions for a d
Saturday night I was out when I felt a sudden loss of power and when slowing down...a knocking (the worse sound for any beloved car owner). I pull over in the "hot spot" and my friend and I pop the hood, checked the oil and realized that the oil was low (pretty much gone). To make a long story short, It's a bearing (facing the car the 1st or 2nd cylinder on the left). Someone said that if the crankshaft isn't scared that I can just replace the bearing. Is this true? How much will I being looking to spend
*note*
I'm 17 and can't do the work myself.
I searched (archived) and found nothing for my d16y8.

Re: (Dasani)
The bearings in general are not too expensive, It is just the fact that you have to tear apart your whole bottom end to replace them, and don't think your going to replace just one. If your there, you need to replace them all! Main journal bearings, and the rod bearings, and have your crank inspected for damage! Only use honda bearings!

Why does it matter if you 17.....If your low on cash and need to get this fixed then just buy a helms manual and some tools and get to work. If you take this to a shop it will cost you alot more than if you do it your self.
