factory tach does not work in 92 civic hatch

factory tach does not work in 92 civic hatch
I put in a 2001 b18c5 into a 92 civic si and used the itr motor harness and now the factory tach does not work anymore, does anyone have any input as to why that would happen?
The only conclusion that I came to as to the reason is that the blue wire that comes off the distributor that runs to the drivers side harness on an obd1 and continues into the car as the tach signal wire for the cluster isn't there on the itr harness.
