Default CYP Sensor

My distributor went out on 92 Prelude S. I replaced the distributor and the ECU keeps throwing the 09 code (CYP Sensor). The light went off before I replaced the distributor and when I got the new one in and the light kept going off I thought, what the ****!

I got the code from the ECU again and it was once again the 09 code for the CYP sensor. The CYP Sensor is in the distributor correct? I pulled the clock fuse to reset the ECU and it still goess off and I even disconnected the battery to get it to go off but it hasnt yet. Do you think the distributor I bought could have been bad? It was a reman!

Thanks for any help!

You have two possibilities. Either you have another bad distributor, or you have a wiring problem between your ECM and the distributor.

Well I dont think any of the wiring is bad, since the light only started going off when the distributor went out. I think I shoudl just get a new distributor, remans suck big time!

I pulled the clock fuse and even disconnected the battery that should clear the ECU of any codes and since it still throws the code it is still be sent to the ECU, correct? I just dont want to get a new distributor when the code is just being stored in the ECU and can be cleared out.

Thanks Again,

You shouldnt even have to reset the ECU. Cycling the power(aka turning the key
off and on again) should reset it since it pretty much resets itself when u do that.
