You couldn't have searched very far, there's a sticky thread up on the very top of this BB.
9 = CYP sensor
That's in the distributor. You might want to check for loose wiring where the harness plugs into the distributor, then check for loose connections inside the distributor. I think(?) you have to buy the distributor to get that sensor.

There's 2 sensors (CYP & TDC) down inside the distributor, you have to take out the coil & ignitor to get at them. If you see a bunch of rusty-colored dust down there, maybe you can clean it up & be OK for a little while, while you order a new distributor. If you find broken pieces of stuff, you need a new one right now. If you're lucky, you'll find a loose wire (inside or outside the distributor) that you can fix.

well, i changed my cap and rotor and everything looked nice. But when i slid the rotr onto the little nub thing i noticed it wa sextremely loose. i started the car back up and there was a very loud gargaling noise coming from the dist. I didn't drive it to work. It was far to scary. it didn't sound good. so now i am going to pick up a distributer from a friend tomarrow. thanks for all the help.

But was the noise there before? Did you get the wrong rotor so it didn't fit correctly? Code 9 isn't the cap & rotor, those sensors are down inside the distributor below all the other stuff.

the noise started coming right after my CEL came on. So i thought my rotor was rubing on something, so i looked at it and it was messsed up. So i bought a new one. the problem was still there. I took my distributor off today and replaced it. (good thing my friend had one laying around) The part that goes into the cam was totally fried. Like the baring was spinning like dog ****. i don't understand what caused this, but im glad it is now fixed. thanks for all the help Jim!
