crank fluctuation sensor bypass
I have one quick question,
my freind with a 97 civic ex just ruined his motor running it low on oil. he purchased a jdm d15b (sohc vtec) but the motor doesnt have the sensor, is there any way to bypass the sensor or retrofit it to the new motor? thanks alot in advance

It'll be easier to just convert to OBD-1 ECU using a conversion harness and not worry about wiring up the CKF.
The oil pump on there right now might not have the holes to facilitate the mounting of a CKF sensor. And then, there's the wiring and pinning of another set of wires to think about. It's more trouble than it's worth.

Or you can install a new oil pump on the JDM motor. Place the CA sensor and the toothed wheel from the old motor on the pulley, throw in a new tblet while your at it and run the CAS. Your motor will be better with the CAS and staying obd2 is the way to go. your timeing will be calculated better with the CAS and you will make more power with one installed instead of hacking it until the light goes out.
