92 d15 (OBD1) motor into a 97 Honda Civic (OBD2): crank angle sensor?
I'm putting a 1992 d15 (obd1) motor in to a 97 Honda Civic (OBD2). On the engine wiring there is three wires for the CRANK ANGLE SENSOR that is located on the oil pump. How do I get around this besides putting on a OBD2 oil pump on. From what I heard that you can route these wires to the distributor, but what color wires goes to where? I don't have a 96 and up helms.
Here are some pictures of that I'm talking about:
Here is pictures of the motor with a crank angle sensor but I'm putting in a motor without one:
Here's what the plug looks like:

if you are putting in a motor that doesnt use a crank angle sensor then the motor you are putting in doesnt need one. just make sure that you are using the correct ecu and youll be fine.

OBD1 ECUs don't have that sensor, so you should be ok. My friend put a 97 EX motor into his 93 CX, and it worked just fine with the OBD1 ecu.

No no, i'm putting in a 92 motor (OBD1) in to a 97 Civic (OBD2). the reverse of what you guys just said. SO the ECU on the car needs a Crank angle sensor, but the OBD1 motors don't have one. I was wondering if there is anyway to bypass this. or hook it up to the distributor. What wires?

Whoops, sorry about that. I think the best thing to do is take the old one off your old motor and hook it up but leave it hanging. I was told by a friend who did this, that it works, and doesn't throw a code. I don't know how well it works though. If you don't use it, you will throw a code.
