so my friend was doing a compression test on my new car (93 del sol si) and the compression tester is a 2 piece (we figured that out in the end) well we put the compression tester in the spark plug cylinder and start to do the compression test. all goes well in the first one we did, we take the compression tester out to put back the spark plug. and the spark plug screws in, so we put the plug in but the plug doesnt want to go in, we take the spark plug out and notice that the bottom of the compression tester is still stuck in the cylinder pretty tightly. now after this, i'm stumped on how-to remove it. can anyone offer advice besides telling us to stay away from compression testers?
thanks in advance.
take an air hammer, pound it into the cylinder, and then crank the motor over and hope it pops out of the cylinder through the exhaust valve.lol, jk. this may sound retarded, but could you put some really strong adhesive on the threads on the other half of the tester, screw it in, let it sit, and then try unscrewing it and hope the bottom half sticks on while your unscrewing it?
Haha the first time I did a compression test it got stuck too. Your not surpose to use the bottom connector lol Anyways to get it out use a sparkplug and screw it in to the connector that got stuck. Use some torque to tight it up real good. Then just unscrew it, it should come off and be stuck to the sparkplug haha
Snap-On make some pliers that they used to call 'storks' that were really long and skinny needle-nose pliers that might be able to reach in there. Sears might make a copy of them too, I am not sure. You might be able to use some medical hemastats(sp?) but I am not sure where to get those but they are cool because they are really skinny and they lock. Anything you do, don't put the rest of the compression tester in there and turn it harder thinking you're going to wedge it in there enough so it will pull out the piece you wedged in there. Oh, and penetrating oil - plenty of penetrating oil.
