Default compression tester issues

so my friend was doing a compression test on my new car (93 del sol si) and the compression tester is a 2 piece (we figured that out in the end) well we put the compression tester in the spark plug cylinder and start to do the compression test. all goes well in the first one we did, we take the compression tester out to put back the spark plug. and the spark plug screws in, so we put the plug in but the plug doesnt want to go in, we take the spark plug out and notice that the bottom of the compression tester is still stuck in the cylinder pretty tightly. now after this, i'm stumped on how-to remove it. can anyone offer advice besides telling us to stay away from compression testers?

thanks in advance.
