compression tester stuck in spark plug well
So....i was doing a compression test today and i put the extension on my compression tester so the hose could go that far down, and i went to unscrew it and the extension stayed in, so i screwed the hose back down into the spark plug well thinking it would get the extension out, but now, it's all stuck in there! it won't come out!
i've gotten vicegrips and tried to turn it, but nothing....what the hell am i supposed to do? i don't want to have to replace my whole head because i got a damn compression tester stuck in the spark plug well.....any ideas?
oh yeah.
compression numbers were:
1: 210
2: 210
3: 210
4: 150
so i probably need to replace my engine anyway. this ******* sucks.

Holy crap, I just had the same thing happen this past weekend...if you don't have any, get some Loctite thread locker and apply to the threads, then screw it back into the stuck part. Wait about a half hour and it should set up and come out. It worked for me!

My tester had an adapter that I loctited to the main hose assembly. Once I applied the loctite and waited, I was able to back the whole thing out. Do you think that the original stuck part is cross threaded? How tight did you screw in the tester?

you dont need to replace the engine. that compresion test sugests a blown headgasket or bad rings. when you get the extension out warm the engine back up when you shut it off re test if its still at 150 take out the tester and drop in about 1 table spon of oil into that cylinder.
retest it with oil in. if the test goes up once you add the oil it means the rings are gone.
it could also mean a valve is stuck open. do a valve adjustment and use some sefoam engine cleaner, helped my compression test out.

happened to me too - if it's just the adapter stuck in there, a screwdriver will get it out. If it's the hose and adapter, just keep playing with it.

what I did is i screwed in the hose as hard as I could. then I let the engine cool for a day. then to unscrew the adapter I pulled on the hose HARD while turning it.
