A friend of mine has a gsr engine with CTR pistons and CTR cams...he also has the Venom nitrous kit, installed but not to be used until he has car tuned with Hondata...

Question:
What octane does this setup warrant? I am pretty sure that with the CTR pistons in the gsr block he should have a 12.3/1 Compression ratio.

How much N20 are we talking about?

 

This setup can run with 93/94 octane fuel and would not ping provided you use at least 6 heat range plugs and dont buy fuel from Uncle Ben around the corner.

Thanks...haven't been able to get a solid answer anywhere, he decided to run leaded 118 until he has the car properly tuned...he just burnt through his first O2 sensor last week.

I'm running 12.4:1 compression and the engine runs just fine with 94 octane up here in Canada.
