Default ls/vtec swap question?

im doing a ls/vtec swap. i have the b18b block and i have teh gsr head and i wnat to put ctr pistons and then do new injectors and head gasket adn then run high octane fuel. Is it safe to do that b/c compression is gonig to be at like 12.7:1?

Ok, what now?

GSR head will yield a higher compression than a PR3 ITR or B16 head. That along with CTR pistons will bump compression up pretty high, and being that said, I would run high octane fuel regardless.

So, what's your question?

that would solely depend on how high of compression you want. CTR compression is higher than the pr3's

also, you are going to potentially run into more problems with the higher compression pistons(CTR) if you are not running high enough octane all the time.

When the engine starts a knocking...you're fucked!

you could take care of that with the timing though.

pr3's, unless this is strictly a race car, the added power you get from the ctr's wont be worth the headache.
