CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!!!!!!! code 23
Knock sensor. Either not plugged in, you don't have one, or the one you have is bad. It's on the back of the block, under the intake manifold on the drivers side. (on my GS-R anyway.)
once again thanks for the help,
but one thing i noticed on the car,
was that he has no knock sensor, on the back of the block and no plug for it either,
so how does that work?
the reason it came on was because we went from a chipped ecu to a real spoon one.
the spoon one threw the code, the only thing i can think is that the spoon ecu runs the knock sensor and the chipped mugen on doesnt, now does he have to go get a knock senor put in? and how is he supposed to have that wired up?

The knock sensor screws into the back of the vtec block. Yes he will need a knock sensor if he wants the code to disappear. What motor does he have (must be an LS/vtec)? Knock sensors are easy to get a hold of. You will also need the wire harness plug for it. Put the chipped ecu back in until you get the sensor and wiring installed. You will have to run one wire to the ECU for the knock sensor.
thanks for the 411, we have already put his chipped ecu back in.
the motor he is running is a b16 gen2 5series.(thought i would throw the extras in.
)
anyways, yeah i have an extra block laying around i will use that one, but i got to find him a plug for it.
but thanks again for the information.
