Default code 23 (knock sensor) on ls/vtec?

okay heres my setup i have a 99ls bottom end with no knock sensor and a 95 gsr head with 95 gsr ecu and harness, im throwing a cel code 23 (knock sensor) and i believe this doesnt make my vtec work correctly. on the ecu pinout i have the knock sensor grounded to the chasis and i was told this would by pass the knock sensor but im still getting the code but mainly it doesnt come on until about 5min of normal driving, can someone help me out thanks

i dont think u can even bypass the knock sensor...i had the trouble once and i found out the the connector are not connected properly...what u should do is check that the knock sensor itself and the socket are connected properly that they are not loose...check ur grounds that they are grounded properly...if they are rusty, use a sandpaper to clean all the dirt and rust otherwise it will not connect properly...hope this helps...

you need to have a knock sensor connected to the back of your block.

The only way to bypass it is to have your ECU chipped to disable it.
