Default Breakin of a turbo engine

I am rebuilding my turboed D16 and I want to know if I should be running boost during breakin?

i wouldn't. i'd take the turbo off, and run a stock ecu until it's broken in. then i'd put everything back on, and get it dyno tuned. wouldn't that suck if you had to rebuild again/buy another engine because you couldn't wait to have boost again?

the best thing to do is as soon as you get the engine running go straight to the dyno and get it tuned. That way you don't have to worry about running too lean or too rich and washing out the new rings.

I would, but I beleive in a slightly more aggresive break in procedure than most people.

if you read hot rod or nething else when they build a motor, how do they break theres in? on the dyno, as soon as they are done building it.....Rings are seated by pressure, and it doesnt take long for the cylinder walls to conform to the rings so (thats what breakin period does)
