Re: engine dyno for tuning? (SUPERNATURAL)
nothin wrong with a dynojet bell. its just that ive been ****** with my motor all yr trying to figure it out and it just isnt making the #s. its beyond me. my 1.8L was running faster than this 2L. last yr the 2L was running 2-3 1/10th faster than this yr. i guess i changed too much at one time and havent figured out the right combo yet.
hence, the reasoning for my post.

Re: engine dyno for tuning? (MAX_CFM)
i dont have a dyno from this yr. we have fine tuned the AF ratio and used last yrs BIN file for a baseline. i changed 3 things since last year and have been track testing as much as possible. changing cam gear settings, watchin AF ratio etc, still to no avail.
i added a 70mm TB, PG rockers and JG sheetmetal IM over last yr.
EDIT: im about ready to throw my old **** back on. ive already put on my ITR IM just to see if that would change anything. the incrementals from last night showed the ITR IM to slightly put down better ETs than my JG, but that could be due to track conditions.

Put it on a chassis dyno man. Tuning a turbo car at the track is one thing, but putting together an N/A combination and trying to tune it at the track isn't going to get you very far. An engine dyno is great, but a chassis dyno will work just fine for what you need. Setting up an engine on an engine dyno is alot of time and money.

you changed bore size correct...
you will need to change your timing ....

Re: engine dyno for tuning? (1 2 NV)
I am going to chime in on the side of a chassis dyno. It's amazing how much changing one little thing can affect a tune. Dustin, I get the impression that you have an aversion to chassis dynos, take it from a dyno *****-they rock

Re: engine dyno for tuning? (b19coupe)
naw, thats not the case at all todd. i just dont have anyone that can tune anywhere near me. my friend that mods my ECUs can tune but we have very little experience. we just have to kind of wing it on the knowledge we have been given through HT and other contacts via the internet. i live in a small SE washington town, we have no true tuners here on the eastside, just small timers sorta winging it. i guess the funny thing about it though is we have the 2 fastest all motor hondas in the NW located on the eastside of the state, go figure.
once i get ahold of the guys at the dyno facility ill see if i can work out an hourly rate for next weekend or so.
