Default braided line to oil pressure sensor?

Putting in an aftermarket oil pressure gauge on a b18c1 and the sandwich plate doesnt allow enough room to mount the sensor. Would it be possible to just put in a fitting and run a steel braided line to the sensor and mount the sensor in a better location.... as oppsed to doing the whole filter relocation deal...

Good question but I think if the oil having to travel further from where it has to it won't give you the proper oil pressure reading.

Not sure if it will be useful to anyone else but I called the manufacturer and they said it would be fine and would not alter the reading at all. At the same time, im pretty sure they dont hire mechanical engineers in the customer service department either...

The oil pressure will be the same at the end of a 24" line as it would in a 12" line the length of the line does not determine pressure, the oil pump does. 94

Brass 90º/45º fitting off the plate won't help?

That's an interesting concept you have there, unfortunately it's wrong. It's a pressurized system.

Do not use brass fittings! EVER EVER for this connection. I have read some threads where they have broken off and pumped all the oil out in short order. There are much better ss choices out there. I am aware that there is little room on these B motors for such upgrades as I am plumbing remote cooler and accumulator and VTECH supply and oil pressure and breather system AHHHH! I am using a double sandwich plate setup and lots of braided line. Costs a bunch but lasts forever. Not much roon at all when everything is in place. Glad that it's all on the back of the motor though.

The only way a brass fitting will break is if it's over tightened or has a big moment arm hanging off it un-supported.

Most guy install pipe fitting way to tight.

Also fluid dynamic's is why the pressure is the same no matter how long the hose is.
